Who is ‘Laughter is the Cure’?

Laughter Is the Cure is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit focused on one simple goal: making hospitals less scary for kids.

We do this by throwing live comedy shows featuring top talent and turning a great night out into real, immediate impact. The money raised goes directly toward tangible goods and experiences. Things kids can see, touch, and feel that help bring comfort and make the hospital a bit less scary.

Just as important, our shows bring people together. LITC is about building a community of engaged givers who want to show up, have fun, and do good together. Giving back shouldn’t feel distant or abstract, it should feel human and something you want to be part of.

Since 2015, we’ve been proving that a little bit goes a long way when the community comes together.

What we do.

We produce live comedy shows featuring top-tier stand up and improv comedy talent. Each show is designed to be genuinely fun, welcoming, and inclusive. The kind of night you’d want to be at even if it weren’t for a good cause.

Why it matters.

Giving back shouldn’t feel distant or transactional. We believe you can have fun and still do something meaningful at the same time. Our goal is simple: make doing good feel social, enjoyable, and worth showing up for.

Where your money goes.

Our shows help make hospitals less scary for kids. Funds raised go toward tangible items that create immediate comfort. Books, toys, video games, stuffed animals and thoughtfully designed spaces that feel more like a kid’s room and less like a hospital. We prioritize donor transparency and are committed to ensuring your contributions make a meaningful impact.

How it started.

Laughter Is the Cure began as a single comedy show in 2015, founded by Sam Silverstein and brought to life alongside comedian Nick Tenaglia and producer Jeremy Paczos. What started small grew into a run of live events that raised money for pediatric causes and proved that comedy could bring people together for something genuinely good.

What we believe.

Showing up matters. When you do something with the intent of helping someone else, it sticks with you. One good night can ripple outward. To a kid, a family, a room, a moment that feels a little lighter. That’s the kind of impact we’re after.
